Fashion Week = Good News for Cyclists

So maybe you haven't been raptly following fashion shows all over the world these past few weeks (Fashion Week NY took place last week and Fashion Week London is going on as I write!) but if there's one thing I love as much as a good bike ride it's a good Marc Jacobs show. This year, cyclists are really in luck. Designers are calling for "pop" colors, which means those bright vests and neon jerseys? They're actually in style.

None of my friends believe me when I tell them how similar cyclists and fashion hounds are, but to me the similarities are striking. Both love blinding colors and wearing things that others would consider odd. Neither mind spending money on accessories that regular people can't fathom, be they padded shorts or statement necklaces. Both enjoy having something that is well made, functional, looks good, and will last several seasons. Or at least until the next Fashion Week!
