TdF Stage 12 ? Klöden ? Pain and Suffering

To the uninitiated, when enthusiasts talk about how elite cyclists can suffer and push themselves through pain, it?s usually a good thing, a compliment. It often refers to a rider pedaling up a high mountain or a long time trial where the toughest mental competitors drive themselves beyond their physical red zone and can [...]

Velo Orange

If you're interested in having a classic old-style look to your touring setup, but don't want to pony up a ton of cash to get it, Velo Orange is emerging as a very attractive option. In fact, if you're looking into building a bike from the ground up, their online store can cover you from the frame all the way to the bar tape, some of which is Velo Orange branded, while other items they select from outside companies. Here are a few Velo Orange-branded components and accessories worth checking out.

VO Model 3 Touring Saddle: This leather saddle with chrome-plated rivets is modeled after the very popular Brooks B17. It is designed for touring bikes, on which you might find your handlebars set even with, or slightly higher than, your saddle. A tension bolt underneath the nose of the saddle helps keep the center of the saddle from sagging too much, and you'll find two tabs hanging off the back of the saddle for attaching a saddle bag to. One major highlight for the saddle is that it has long 80mm chrome-plated rails, which give you a lot of fore/aft adjustment. These retail for $85.

Elkhide Sewn-on Bar Covers: On the accessories side, the Elkhide bar covers are a lot of fun to have on your bike. Installation can take some patience for sure, but they include good instructions, in addition to waxed thread and a needle for sewing. This retails for $35.

oVo recumbent tandem UK manufacturer.

Article by; OvO tandems Richard Cresswell After a holiday in Brittany Richard came up with the idea to make a tandem recumbent ? I think he was fed up with waiting for me at the top of the hills. So the oVo was conceived. So now when we go away (2010 we did over 1,000 Km on one trip and in 2011 1685.5 Km) we arrive in the same place at the same time! He went back to basics for the design, steering away from a standard bike shape and replacing it with a sexy curve made from aluminium box section. It separates into two bags which means you can go on Euro star (?if you can get it through the X-ray machine mate we can get it on Euro star? quote from a porter at Euro star) and it does. In fact we went on 11/11 different trains this year through England, France, Holland and Belgium without refusal. The bags weigh 9.5Kg and 13.5Kg (less than the pannier bags did!)
