Slow cyclists meet fast cyclists

Our loaded touring bikes stood out in stark contrast to their lightweight machines.

We were each enjoying our different styles of cycling on a gorgeous summer day.

Snoqualmie Falls, where we met them, is about 65 miles into their century. This is about where they turn around and head back to Seattle.

Russell and I have a good 30 to 40 miles to go ourselves... all up hill.

Bike Overnights: The Next American Challenge

Bikeovernights.org readership has increased by 30% in the last few months, and we couldn't be happier that the site is gaining popularity.

Bike overnight story submissions have been pouring in faster than we can read them, stories about all the great places to bike and camp within the vast expanse of ... Washington.

Where's the rest of America?

I'm not trying to draw lines in the sand or stir up old rivalries or anything, but where's the show of force from New York and Massachusetts? Let's see some rides in Georgia, Virginia, Louisiana, Tennessee and Mississippi! U.S. Territories?! Vermont vs. New Hampshire? Colorado, Utah ... I know you guys aren't famous for mountain biking or anything ... Yoohoo, Ohio?

Let's see some overnight bride rides, kid rides, dude rides, huge rides, recumbent rides, little weekend away rides, worst rides, regular old friday after work rides, beer rides, race rides, historic rides, toga rides, ice cream rides, geocache rides....(you get the picture).

As long as they're 1-2 night overnights, we want to hear about them! Tell us what your great state or territory has to offer: submit your overnight adventure now.

Posts should be around or under 1500 words with links to relevant sites, include pictures (if available) and a short bio of the author.

Submit your trips so Texas and Washington don't get too proud.

After such a grueling first 2 weeks it was well deserved, [...]
