Cycle lanes what a waste of time!

A new survey shows that cycle lanes are still coming up short. A recent national survey by Insurance provider Cycleguard has revealed that cycle commuters simply don?t have enough bike lane choice available to them on most of their journey to work. The above taken from Cycling Active. This is a statement of the bloody obvious to most cyclists, using the roads in the Britain, most cycle lanes are a waste of green paint and indeed some are just a waste of a white line, some serving no purpose that springs to mind.

Kidnapped bicycle travelers released to French authorities

Seven kidnapped Estonians on a bicycle tour gone seriously wrong are free after French diplomats negotiated their release in Lebanon.

The men, in their 30s and 40s, were kidnapped at gunpoint after crossing over the border from Syria on their bicycle tour on March 23.

The May 20 video at left is one of two posted on YouTube.com.

The seven arrived at the French embassy in Beirut on Thursday. There was no immediate word whether a ransom was paid or other conditions of their release.

The French volunteered to help in the case ...

1984 Bike Tour: Day 62 - Ghostly visions pedaling uphill

PRESCOTT, Ariz. -- We spent much of today in the small gears, the stump-pullers, the grannies.

We started our climb almost immediately after leaving Dead Horse campground. Jim had already left -- we told him we always got a late start -- and we gingerly picked our way across that slippery low-water bridge.

The old ghost town of Jerome was only about 4 miles away, but 2,000 feet above us. From the brush along Route 89, we could see the town sitting on the edge of a mountain, with a big white letter "J" adorning a slope above it
