Getting To Know You Better

The Adventure Cycling tours department continues to have a record year in 2012 as we approach 1300 riders across all our tour offerings. I think this phenomenal increase in tour participation is due to our new tours, a renewed customer service focus in the tours department, our own excitement about our programs, and a deep desire to get to know our participants better. Thank you for sharing in the excitement!
Cycle Montana Riders and Arlen at Headquarters
In an effort to continue to be available to our participants as much as possible and to build on the current buzz about Adventure Cycling tours, I have been actively visiting several of our tours during the orientation meeting, along the route on a "rest" day, and even during the opening of our newly renovated headquarters. In addition to sharing the excitement of their upcoming or current tour, we spend time riding and sharing a meal while talking about their past tour experiences with Adventure Cycling, communications with the tours department before the tour, quality and quantity of pre-tour information, ideas for new tours or modifications to existing tours and everything else that becomes a topic of conversation. We have talked about segmented epic tours, our focus on self-contained, small group tour experiences, shared group cooking, quality of caterers, availability of tour maps prior to orientation meetings, tour pricing, tour-start shuttles, the best way to pack a lunch, Google Groups, and of course their next dream tour.
2012 Finger Lakes Loop tour
So far this year I've visited the Florida Leadership Training Course and the Florida Keys Winter Escape tour, and shared a meal, and sometimes ridden, with the participants of the Cape Cod Pilgrimage, Cycle Montana, Northern Tier, and Glacier-Waterton Loop tours. I am currently visiting the participants of the Denali Adventure as I am a participant myself! My future plans include possibly surprising the Selkirk Splendor, TransAm Van and TransAm tours. Oops, I guess the surprise is out. There may be others as well.
Denali Adventure Participants
We are here to serve you, our tour participants and members. Do not hesitate to call or email the tours department (tours@adventurecycling.org 406-721-1776 x3) or contact me directly (ahall@adventurecycling.org 406-532-2761) with any tours-related queries you might have.

I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can ... out on the road, listening to your desires, hearing your concerns, and applauding your praises for Adventure Cycling tours!

Happy Trails!
